Let’s Talk About: Women’s Issues
“Women’s Issues” is a broad way of including many different and complicated set of experiences. Some of the issues are unique for women and some are not. When women seek treatment for broad spectrum of reasons, we can consider this Women’s Issues. In other words, this can include clinical diagnosis, life events and transitions. This does not mean that “Women’s Issues” itself is a clinical diagnosis because it isn’t, but this language does welcome all woman identifying individuals to seek support for a wide range of concerns presenting in their life.

Self Esteem and Self Worth- Individuals seeking to improve their sense of self and increase confidence, while strengthening perception of worth and value. This can be done by exploring past and present experiences by unpacking automatic narrative (thoughts) and responses (behaviors) that occur. This also involves a deep dive into environment and relationships. Reminder- relationships can be interpersonal (person to person) or relationship to object (such as food, social media, clothing, etc.).
Understanding Core Values and Beliefs- Identify non negotiable core values and belief system in order to understand your perception of the world and own behaviors. Make meaning from experiences by identifying how core values/beliefs play a role in your behaviors and impact your worldview.
Empowerment and Compassion without Judgement- Seeking support from a trained mental health professional means that you have a safe and confidential space to process and receive support. Feel empowered to establish goals and challenge negative thinking patterns without judgement. Most often individuals are extremely tough and unforgiving on themselves. At times this may be beneficial but other times this may be destructive and dangerous.
